Jack and the Beanstalk - Review
Performed by the Watlington Group - January 2023
Theatre Kids Show Confidence
Jack and the Beanstalk was a traditional pantomime. It boasted a full cast including a hero, an evil villain and even a dame. Our brave Jack embarked upon a quest to save his sweetheart Jill from the clutches of the dreaded giant Two-Face. Along the way, we met the good fairy, Fairy Liquid, and her magic beans who were played adorably by the youngest members of the company. They melted our hearts with their songs.
The performance was the amazing result of weeks of dedication by the young cast. Their performance combined the three key skills for any theatre performer – acting, singing and dancing. With so many wonderful performances, from confident singing to brilliant comic timing, their hard work certainly paid off.
In a world full of mobile phones and computer games, Company Director Alexis Cheesman should be applauded for creating Catkids. In it, she has provided a great opportunity for our young people. Performing on stage gives kids the chance to learn new and exciting skills, to make new friends and, above all, to grow in confidence.
A huge well done to Alexis, her team of helpers and of course to the entire cast. I look forward to the next show. For more information about the next performance, and how your child could be part of it, please visit https://www.catkids.biz/
