Bunfight at the O.K. Corral- Review
Performed by the Watlington Group - June 2023
Theatre Kids take the Wagon Train Going West
The latest performance of the Catkids Theatre Company was held at Icknield Community College on Saturday, 24th June 2023.
In the best traditions of Calamity Jane and Cat Ballou, Bunfight at the OK Corral was a Wild West musical that really delivered! A case of mistaken identity, a black-hatted baddie and more than its fair share of comedy characters made it a performance to remember.
The Dead End Kid, a famous movie star, goes west to entertain the good townsfolk of Soft Bed Springs. Unfortunately, they think that he has come to rid them of the scourge of the west, Lucretia McEvil and her gang of bad guys. Despite his nerves, the Kid wins the day with a hard-fought bun fight – and with the help of his new friends!
The hard work of the young cast and their weeks of rehearsals shone through. With singing, dancing and some excellent comic timing, the show wowed the audience with many wonderful performances. Once again, Company Director Alexis Cheesman has provided an inspiration for our young people. Being part of a theatre company provides kids with confidence, new skills, and lifelong friendships.
Alexis, her team of helpers and the entire cast deserve huge congratulations for another wonderful show. For more information about the next performance, and how your child could be part of it, please visit https://www.catkids.biz.
